Daniel Webster "DW" Woodward, 90, of the Whitfield community in Ovett, MS, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at Forrest General Hospital. Born on July 2, 1935, in Laurel, MS, DW was a beloved member of his community.

DW was a dedicated entrepreneur, owning and operating Woodwards Barber and Beauty Shop in Ellisville for 65 years. He also owned Woodward Farms in the Whitfield community for a lifetime. He was an active member of Mt. Olive Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Morris and Vera Royals Woodward, and his sister, Helen Grey Kruse. He is survived by his loving family, including his wife of 69 years, Hilda Shows Woodward; his daughter, Stephanie Woodward Crunk and her husband Chris; his son, Stephen Daniel Woodward and his wife Tracy; his grandchildren, Matthew Crunk and his fiancée Katie, Micah Crunk and his wife Lindsay, Brianna Woodward, Brynn Woodward, and Milton Carpenter and his wife Hanna; and his great-grandchildren, Ellington Woodward Crunk, Hilton Reade Crunk, Kaia Lynn Crunk, River Wayne Crunk, and Oakley Ray Carpenter.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Ellisville Funeral Home, located at 1204 B Ave, Ellisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM at the same location, with burial at Mt. Olive Cemetery in the Whitfield Community. Bro. Rodney Smith and Bro. Charles Wadell will officiate. Arrangements are under the care of Ellisville Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Matthew Crunk, Micah Crunk, John Turner, Devan McCann, Marty Hinton, and Nyles Branch.
