Curtis Dwight Sanders Sr., 81, of Ellisville, MS, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Jones County Rest Home in Ellisville, MS. He was born on May 29, 1945, in Texas.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Sanders, parents, Jessie and Freddie Sanders, daughter, Lisa McCoy, brother, Erle Sanders.

He is survived by his loving family, including his children, Stephanie Harris (David), Curtis Sanders (Jennifer); grandchildren, Annalise Spears (Chris), Cohen Spears, Ashlee Howard (Colt), Raimee Sanders, Drake Sanders, Jacob McCoy, Cole McCoy, Sarah Housley (Johnny), Adam Bynum, Emily Odom (Martaveous), Landon Harris. Great Grandchildren, Noah Lopez, Vaeda Howard, Carter Howard, Freya Housley, Azeline Housley, Mckaylynn Odom; Sister, Marilyn Buckhault (Terry); Brother, Billy Sanders (Joyce); sister in-law, Kim Sanders, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday July 25, 2026, at Ellisville First Methodist Church in Ellisville, Mississippi, from 12:00PM to 2:00 PM. Funeral services will follow on Saturday July 25, 2026, at 2:00PM at the same location, with burial in Ellisville City Cemetery in Ellisville, MS. Rev. Mark Anderson and Rev. David McGowan will officiate. Arrangements are under the care of Ellisville Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Housley, Matt Ledet, Adam Clark, Jake Sumrall, Chris Lopez, Jacob McCoy, Drake Sanders, and Adam Bynum.

Dwight dedicated his life to caring for others through his work as a nurse. He was known for his compassionate heart, gentle spirit and willingness to help anyone in need. Beyond his career he was a devoted father, loving brother and cherished pawpaw/peepaw, loving uncle and faithful friend. Dwight will be remembered for his kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering love for his family and the Lord.
