Obituary

Craig T. Sims

June 24, 1960 – October 27, 2026

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Craig T. Sims, of Ellisville, MS, on October 27, 2026, at the age of 66. Craig was deeply loved by his family and friends.

Born on June 24th, 1960 at Masonite Hospital in Laurel, MS to John and Vermell Sims, Craig spent his life as a devoted husband, father and pawpaw. He was a devout Christian, a hard worker and cared deeply for his family and friends.

Craig loved fishing and kept all his “honey holes” a secret that he shared with only his closest fishing buddies. He will be remembered for his kind heart and amazing personality. He took pride in his business and worked very hard to make it the business that it is today. Above all, he cherished his family more than anything.

Craig is survived by his wife of 46 years, Beverly Faye Sims; his child Kim (Jason) Whiddon; his grandchild Layne (Ashlynn) Whiddon; his great-granddaughter Adley Mae Whiddon; his sisters Pam (Don) Sumrall and Donna (Otis) Parker; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by Joshua Craig Sims (son), John Sims (father), Vermell Sims (mother), Willie Sims (grandfather), Mary Sims (grandmother), Horace Boleware (grandfather) and Iva Boleware (grandmother).

Visitation will be held October 29, 2026, from 10am–1pm, at Ellisville Funeral Home, followed by the Service at 1pm in the Chapel at Ellisville Funeral Home and graveside service to follow at Jordan Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Milton Smith Jr., Jason Smith, Wayne Smith, Keith Brewer, Robert Smith, Teddy Oggs, Matthew Henry, Matthew Patterson

Honorary pallbearers will be Tom White, Howard Chandler, Bill Chandler, Ernest Chandler, Mike Atwood, Skipper Atwood, Erik Herrington, Frankie Brady, Sam Walters
