Clint Crawford
Smith
November 9, 1966 – June 15, 2024
Clint Crawford Smith, 57, passed away on June 15th in Laurel, Mississippi, surrounded by his loving family. On November 9th, 1966, Clint was born to his parents, Crawford and Judy Carol Smith, with a naturally sweet and kind soul, a heart of gold, a warm smile for everyone he
met. Clint loved spending time with his family and also enjoyed being outdoors surrounded by
God's creation.
After graduating from Northeast Jones High School in 1985, Clint obtained multiple
degrees. Clint studied social services at the University of Southern Mississippi, Vocational
Rehabilitation at the University of Tennessee, Vocational Counseling at Mississippi State
University, and Business Management at Memphis State University. He was a student of life, always learning and curious about the world. This passion for learning extended into various
fulfilling careers. Clint worked as a public servant for most of his career. Clint began his service
with the Ellisville Police Department as a dispatcher and a deputy court clerk in 1987. Clint
found a love of serving others through his time working at Ellisville State School, Hearthside
Haven Nursing Home, and the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services. Clint
discovered a passion for sharing his joy and smile with others.
Clint adored all things outdoors and could frequently be found hunting and fishing. Clint
immensely enjoyed spending time with his daughter, Ashley. One of his favorite memories was taking Ashley hunting as a child. In his later years, Clint met the love of his life, Pam. Clint and Pam spent their years together caring for each other, laughing at Clint's arsenal of jokes, and enjoying the feeling of true love and happiness they found within each other. Clint had a quick witt and a sharp sense of humor that was so uniquely his own, which Pam deeply loved about him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Crawford Smith; aunt, Gail Smith; uncle,
Byrum Smith. Survivors include his wife, Pamela Sue Bloodsworth Smith, daughters, Ashley
Smith Purvis (Rocky) and Emily Flowers; step-son, Jordan Kondon (Rachel); step-daughters,
Amber Medlyn (Teddy) and Julia Flowers; mother, Judy Carol Culpepper Smith; sister, Tanya
Smith Nichols (Jody).
Clint truly believed in community, service to that community, and connecting to others
through time well spent. While Clint will be missed here on earth, we find peace in knowing that
he is within the arms of our Lord, Jesus Christ walking on the streets of glory, out of the
wheelchair to which he had been bound for 45 years. Clint was a gentle warrior who never met
any challenges that he could not overcome. He was a shining example and inspiration to
everyone that had the opportunity to be in his presence. As Clint prioritized finding joy in life
and sharing it with others, the family asks that you do the same - find something that brings you
joy and share it with those around you. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 22,
2024, at 11:00 AM at 943 Beat 4 Shubuta Road in Shubuta, MS.
