Charles Elbert Hyatt, 81 of Laurel, MS passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at his residence in Laurel, MS. He was born Thursday, April 9, 1942 in Ellisville, Mississippi.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Mt. Vernon Methodist Cemetery in Laurel, Mississippi. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Methodist Cemetery in Laurel, Mississippi. Bro. Davey Fenton will officiate. Ellisville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 601-477-3797

He was preceded in death by his father, Elbert Mayfield Hyatt; mother, Blanche Maudy Hyatt;  sister, Shirley Holder.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Neldia Cooley Hyatt; nephews, David Lee Holder (Lisa), Donald  Ray Holder and Michael Cooley (Stephanie);  nieces, Angela Pontiff (Paul);  great nephews, Ethan  Cooley, Joshua Pontiff and Cole Bennett Stringfellow;  great nieces, Bailey Stringfellow (Colby), Destany Cooley, Bethany Pontiff; great-great niece and nephew, Rylie Brooke Stringfellow and Cole Bennett Stringfellow;  and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Michael Cooley, Ethan Cooley, Colby Stringfellow, and Joshua Pontiff.

Honorary pallbearers will be Cole B. Stringfellow.
