Carroll (Kent) Smith, 61, of Seminary, Mississippi, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, following a 2 ½ year battle with cancer.

Kent enjoyed fishing, watching baseball games, and spending time with his grandkids. He worked for Schlumberger for nearly 30 years. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather.

He was survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Julie Smith; his parents, Charles and Peggy Smith; his children, Jaclyn (Chuck) Baylis of Hattiesburg, Brittani (Bryan) Wemple of Colorado, Sarah McInnis of Florida, and Jarrod (Katy) Smith of Laurel; his grandchildren, Nathan, Brylee, Gus, Landon, Jayden, and Trulie; his brother, David Smith; and his sisters, Dee Dee Zumwalt and Deena Mixon.

Kent was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Brooklyn Smith.

Visitation will be at Ellisville Funeral Home in Ellisville, MS from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at Ellisville Funeral Home. Rev. Ken Tew will officiate the services with interment to follow at the Shelton Baptist Church Cemetery in Moselle, Mississippi.

Pallbearers will be Jarrod Smith, David Smith, Kenny Flowers, Nathan McInnis, David Bryant, Ion Mixon, Aaron Zumwalt, and Landon Leggett.

Kent was amazing man. To know him was to love him.
