Carol Sue Dykes, 72, of Laurel, MS, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, June 9, 2025. Born on December 3, 1952, in Laurel, Mississippi, Carol lived a life full of love and dedication to her family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Luther Ray Dykes, her father, Howard Brown, Sr., and her mother, Carolyn Holliman Jones, along with Curtis Ray.

Carol is survived by her sons, Jonathan Hilbun and his wife Chenae, and Jason Hilbun with Karen Blanks. She was a proud grandmother to Holli, Lexi, and Libby Hilbun, as well as Brooke and Austin Blanks. Her brothers, Mike Jones and his wife Debra, and Howard Brown, Jr., along with her sister, Deborah Parrish, will cherish her memory. Carol also leaves behind her nephews, Jacob Parrish, Justin Jones, and Aaron Findley, and her niece, Amber Wohlscheid.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Ellisville Funeral Home, located at 1204 B Ave, Ellisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will take place on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the same location, with Bro. Jimmy Hill officiating. Carol will be laid to rest at Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Soso, Mississippi.

The family would like to express gratitude to the caretakers that took care of Mrs. Carol for the last two years.

Pallbearers will be Brian Johnson, Justin Jones, Kyle Jefcoat, Jason Jefcoat, Jason Todd, and Austin Blanks.
