Carl D. Manning, Sr., 78, of Ellisville, MS, passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, March 29, 2025. Born on October 9, 1946, in Laurel, Mississippi, Carl was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

He is survived by his sons, Carl D. Manning, Jr. (Amy) and Michael Manning (Trisha); daughters, Wanda Whited (Jimmy) and Wilma Manning Persaud (Bobby).

Carl proudly and honorably served in and retired from the United States Army in 1987.

He was a proud grandfather to Lisa Williams, Henry Whited, Jr., Kristopher Alexander, Courtney Byrd, Magen Persaud, Marcy Persaud, Michael Persaud, Ashley Manning, Alivia Manning, Bryanna Manning, Grace Odom, Ethan Odom (Mattie), Anistan Odom, and Warren Odom, Sierra Kelley, Brooke Kelley, Cameron Kelley, and Miranda Kelley. Carl also had numerous great grandchildren that he adored.

Carl also leaves behind his brothers, Dale Manning (Penny), Mike Manning, and Roy Manning (Cindy); sisters, Geraldine Blackledge (Wayne), Norma Kitchens, Willie Joe Manning (Joe), Connie Walker (Bill), and Lynn Manning, along with numerous nieces and nephews; in particular, Sam Butler, who cared for him until he was called home.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Loriena Mae Adams Manning; his parents, Cecil Manning and Willie Mae Butler Manning; and his sisters, Carolyn Williams and Marilyn Manning.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Ellisville Funeral Home, located at 1204 B Ave, Ellisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the same location, with burial to follow at Ellisville City Cemetery, laying to rest next to his beloved Douge. Brother Rodney Baker will officiate the services.

Carl will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on through his family and friends.
