Brett
Westmoreland
May 8, 2001 — Jul 1, 2026
It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of Brett Gage Westmoreland, affectionately known as Gage, who left this world on July 1, 2026, at the young age of 25. Gage was born on May 8, 2001, and from that day forward, he brought light and laughter to everyone he encountered.
Gage was the cherished son of Sam D. Westmoreland, Serena, and Miranda L. Parker. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Sam L. Westmoreland, Jr., and his beloved aunt, Ashley Pearson. Gage is survived by his greatest treasure, his son, Brett Lane Westmoreland. He also leaves behind his wife, Lindsey C. Westmoreland, and siblings, Cambree Parker, Jadien Davis, Cheyenne Duncan, Haylee Stueve, and Ashton Westmoreland, as well as his grandparents, Willie and Sherry Mizell, Loretta Pearson, and Shirley B. McNabb. His great-grandmother, Clara Sims, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins who adored him are also among those who will forever hold him in their hearts.
A graduate of Purvis High School, Gage was a talented member of the school's rodeo team, where he competed in bull riding at the high school national level and expressed his love for horses. Gage's adventurous spirit was evident in his passion for all things outdoors—whether it was fishing, camping, riding jet skis, or his cherished motorcycle. Weekends were for adventure, and his love for loud and fast pursuits defined his vibrant personality.
Gage was more than his hobbies; he was a man with a heart as big as his smile. Known for his generosity and willingness to help anyone in need, he had a rare gift for making people laugh and lifting spirits. His energy was infectious, and his presence was a source of joy to those around him.
In his professional life, Gage found satisfaction in his work at MD Electric. Yet, it was his time spent on the farm with his father, Sam, that truly brought him fulfillment and caused him to change careers to work on the cattle farm for Flying B Farms. Whether it was embarking on cow haul trips or driving the tractor baling hay, Gage embraced the hard work and simple pleasures of farm life.
The celebration of Gage's life will take place on July 11, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at the Baxterville Church of God, located at 15 Tatum Salt Dome Rd, Lumberton, MS 39455.
The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has reached out with love and support. Your calls, texts, and offers of assistance mean the world during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made in Gage's memory to a charity of your choice, as a testament to his generous spirit.
Gage will forever be remembered for his big heart, zest for life, and the immense love he had for his son, Lane. His legacy lives on in the smiles and laughter he evoked and in the countless lives he touched. Though he is no longer with us, Gage will always be in our hearts.
