Brenda Kay Stokes, age 66, of Laurel, MS, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. Born on December 16, 1959, in Laurel, MS, Brenda dedicated many years of her life to her career as a cosmologist.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Carl and Opal Vernice Craven, and her brother, Carl Clinton Craven. Brenda is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Tim Stokes, and her daughter, Sabrina Stokes, along with her partner Baron Broome. She leaves behind cherished memories with her grandchildren, Justin Stokes and his partner Makala Breazeale, and Mary Katlyn Zeagler. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Allister Wyatt Odell Stokes, Vincent Isaiah Stokes, Remi Ann Zeagler, Drake Preston Zeagler, and Denver Breazeale, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Ellisville Funeral Home, located at 1204 B Ave, Ellisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 PM at the same location, with burial at Rushton Cemetery in Laurel. Arrangements are under the care of Ellisville Funeral Home.
