Brenda Joyce Burgess, 72, of Laurel, MS passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Merrit Health Wesley in Hattiesburg, MS. She was born Saturday, February 3, 1951 in Ferriday, Louisiana.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Ellisville Funeral Home. The Funeral Services will follow at 2:00PM. Dr. Bill Myers will officiate. Ellisville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 601-477-3797

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Cotten and Ramona Britt Cotten; three brothers and two sisters; and one daughter, Monica Cotten Stokes.

Survivors include her husband, Frank Burgess; grandchildren, Blake Stokes (Beth), Blaine Stokes (Kelly) and Bayli Stokes Walters (Alex); great-grandchildren, Vetta Stokes, Madison Stokes, Lincoln Stokes, Brinley Walters, and Dudley Stokes as well as six brothers and sisters.
