Bobby Joe Holifield, 78, of Laurel, MS, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, MS. He was born on Wednesday, January 9, 1946, in Laurel, Mississippi.

BJ was a man of few words until he got to know you, after which he didn't stop talking. He served two years in the United States Navy and worked at Delta Industries, formerly known as Pine Belt Ready Mix, for over ten years before retiring. BJ was known for his generosity and care for everyone he met, never hesitating to help others. He loved his family dearly and was always there to support them. BJ was a sweet soul who will be missed by all who knew him. His absence will forever leave a space in our hearts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow Wilson Holifield, Sr and Vesta Gladys Lawrence Holifield; brothers, David Holifield, Woodrow Holifield, Jr, and Thomas Holifield; and sister, Gloria Broadway.

He is survived by his loving wife, Frances Ishee Holifield; sons, Joe 'Brad' Holifield (Stacie) and Matthew Holifield (Alli); daughters, Kimberly Holifield (Jake), Tammie Ingram (Jarred), Torrie Holifield, and Samantha Holifield; sister, Patricia Holifield; grandsons, Conner Holifield, Jase Myrick, Landon Holifield, Lawson Holifield, JJ Ingram, and Xander Ingram; granddaughters, Caroline Myrick, Mattie Holifield, and Ashlon Holifield; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 21, 2024, from 9:30AM until 11:00AM at Ellisville Funeral Home, 1204 B Ave, Ellisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will follow at 11:00AM at the same location, officiated by Bro. Robbie Johnson. Ellisville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
