Bobbie Sue
Culpepper
May 23, 2021 – August 23, 2021
Bobbie Culpepper passed away peacefully at South Central Regional Medical Center at the age of 83, Monday August 23, 2021 surrounded by her loving children. She was born May 18, 1938 to Robert M. and Alma Shows Ward in Laurel, Ms.
A private family service was held Friday, August 27, 2021 which Rev. Kenny Morris officiated and burial followed at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
Bobbie overcame many health challenges in her life. Even through some of her health issues, she was always helping someone else. She was active in the community and church. Many that knew her before she had the first stroke are in possession of a quilt, crocheted rose bedspread, crocheted doilies, or embroidered pieces. She played the piano at church and loved singing with her trio or quartet group. She shared her home and gave baby and wedding showers. Bobbie was also known for her delicious cooking. A number of people often dropped by unannounced to visit and enjoy a meal or dessert at her house because it was well known that she cooked every day. She was constantly preparing meals and taking them others. Many times, she cleaned houses for others and babysat for them. She cleaned the church, and drove anyone that asked for a ride to church or anywhere they needed to go, Bobbie never took payment for anything she did for others. In her free time, she was shopping. Most of the time, her shopping was to give to someone else. She would have literally, and did give anything she could to her family, friends, and acquaintances until illness made her unable to do so.
She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. In her eyes, they never did anything wrong.
Preceding her in death were her parents Robert M. and Alma Shows Ward; husband, Wilton Culpepper; sisters, Dorothy Nixon and Eleanor Ward; brother, Robert Aaron Ward; granddaughter, Angela Ekes.
Survivors include her son, Scott (Donna) Culpepper; daughters, Marsha (John) Tew and Janet (Danny) Herrington; grandchildren, Dr. Brandon (Jessica) Herrington, Damon Herrington, Bronson Tew, and Marcus Culpepper; ten great grandchildren; and two great, great grandchildren; sisters, Francis (Thomas) Kitchens, and Jean Walker; and a host of nieces and nephews.
