On August 9th, Betty Bolivar, at the age of 97, went to be with the Lord. Born May 1, 1929, she was a retiree from Ellisville State School and a long-time member of Sandhill Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Smith; her father, Jim Smith; her sisters, Willie Vee Karolyi, Bobby Jean Nelson, and Louise Shoemake; her brother, James (Buddy) Smith; her husband, Earl Bolivar; her son, Mike Bolivar; and her niece, Christy Bolivar.

Survived by her oldest son, William (wife, Janice), and her youngest son, Gary (wife, Willo Dean); daughter-in-law, Charlotte Bolivar-Madison.

Grandsons: Kyle (wife, Allison), Barrett (wife, Polina), Stephen (wife, Susan), Evan Bolivar (wife, Peyton), and Eric. Great-grandchildren, Isabella, Cooper, Eli, Lev, Katie and Carter and a host of nieces and nephews

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Ellisville Funeral Home, located at 1204 B Ave, Ellisville, Mississippi, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Sandhill Baptist Church at 10:00AM with burial at Sandhill Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Jim Woodyear will officiate. Arrangements are under the care of Ellisville Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
