Arval Gwin Smith, Jr., aged 62, of Quitman, MS, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at his residence. Born on May 6, 1963, Gwin dedicated over 40 years of his life to working in the oil field. He was a man who cherished the outdoors, enjoyed grilling, and had a passion for taking care of animals. Above all, he loved Jesus and his family dearly.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Welch Smith; his son, Justin Woods and wife Jennifer; his daughter, Kristy Dickerson and husband Keith; his father, Arval Smith, Sr.; his mother, Toye Evans Smith; his brother, Michael Smith; his sister, Gina Hudson and husband Jimmy; and his cherished grandchildren, Cameron Carney, Gavin Ivy, Vance Woods, Aubrey Ivy, and Casey Dickerson.
