Alice Murl Roney, aged 90, of Ellisville, Mississippi, passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at Forrest General Hospital. She was a cherished member of the Ellisville First Assembly of God church family.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Hosea and Dovie Atwood, and her grandson, Jeff Mills. She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 75 years, E.C. Roney, and their three daughters: Joan (Kenny) Morris, Debbie (David) Mills, and Angie (Mickey) Havard. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Scott (Kim) Morris, Jason (Mandi) Morris, Tim Morris, Jabe (Anna) Mills, Sarah Havard, and Ben Havard, as well as eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and many other family members and friends.
Alice married E.C. Roney, the love of her life, on December 18, 1949. Together, they raised a beautiful family and shared a life filled with love and joy. Gardening and family meals were central to their family life, and Alice took great pleasure in her well-kept yard and beautiful flowers.
For 48 years, Alice and E.C. Roney pastored churches in Mississippi and Alabama, where Alice served faithfully by her husband's side, playing a vital role in their dedicated ministry. Her love for her children and grandchildren was immense, and she cherished the time spent with them, creating wonderful memories as 'Mamaw'.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 5:00PM until 9:00PM at First Assembly of God in Ellisville, MS. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024, at 2:00PM at the same location, with burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Ellisville, MS.
Bro. Russell McDonald, Bro. David Mills, and Bro. Kenny Morris will officiate the services, with arrangements handled by Ellisville Funeral Home.
Alice's life was a testament to her faith, love, and dedication to her family and community. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her memory will be cherished forever.
